At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Understand how IT affects returns from mergers and acquisitions. We will discuss how the different dimensions of IT affect different measures of returns from mergers and acquisitions.
- Understand the mechanisms through which IT affects post merger performance. We will discuss how the flexibility of organizational IT makes it possible to make and integrate mergers and acquisitions.
- Overall, the goal of this talk is to understand the role of IT in mergers and acquisitions, and what IT decisions and choices help firms succeed with mergers and acquisitions.
Gautam Ray (firstname.lastname@example.org), is an Associate Professor at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University. His research focuses on the impact of IT on firm scope and structure, and how does IT create value for firms.
