About the MIS Research Center

The Management Information Systems Research Center (MISRC) is a non-profit organization in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. The MISRC was founded in 1968 by pioneers in the MIS field as part of the MIS curriculum development at the Carlson School. The Center is engaged in the dissemination of leading edge thinking about the MIS field, the development of new curriculum, and the facilitation of applied research. The Center disseminates research findings through its seminar series and a working paper series. To be successful, the educational and research programs in MIS require solid support from IS professionals working in industry. The Center provides the needed link between the MIS faculty and the business community. Thus, a primary goal of the MIS Research Center is to promote and utilize a valued interaction between MIS professionals and academics.
